전기정보공학과는 인류 생활에 필요한 전기공학과 정보화 사회의 IT 기술을 연구하여 21세기 전기정보 분야의 핵심 인력을 양성하는 학과이다. 전통적 영역인 전력 발생, 변환, 전송 기술 및 전력 전자와 함께 전자정보통신 분야에서 중추적 역할을 하는 임베디드 시스템, 정보통신, 멀티미디어, 지능형 로봇에 관한 교육과 연구에 전념해 오고 있으며 또한 최근에는 미래 신성장 동력 기술 분야에 해당하는 신재생 에너지, 디스플레이, 인공지능 응용 분야로 그 범위를 확대하고 있다. 국내외 유수한 연구 기관 및 산업 현장 경험을 가진 다수의 교수들이 전공 능력과 인성을 겸비한 고급엔지니어를 양성하여 사회 발전에 기여하고자 한다. 이를 위해 산업 환경 변화에 유연히 대처하는 교육 체계 구축과 새로운 기술 분야에 대한 적극적인 연구영역 확대에 끊임없는 노력을 기울이고 있다.

Introduction
Welcome to SeoulTech’s Department of Electrical and Information Engineering(EIE). The department is dedicated to educating and researching with an emphasis on Power Systems, Power Electronics, Embedded Systems, Multimedia, Intelligent Robot, and Communication. In addition to these, for the purpose of supporting recently emerging industry needs, EIE has been expanding its interest to Renewable Energy, Display, and Artificial Intelligence. EIE strives to educate outstanding students who will become leaders in the area. To this end, EIE makes utmost efforts to establish the structure of curriculum and to extend the research area to adapt to the changing environment in industry and society. Besides, EIE is in close relation to many national research institutes, and well-known companies worldwide.
